The Croatian islands of Lošinj, Ilovik, Susak, and Unije form a cluster of communities that waere settled together and which culturally and historically have been associated with the settlement of families dating back to the late 1600's. Seven cemeteries are transcribed for the communities of Neresine, Sv. Jacob, Cunski, Mali Lošinj, Veli Lošinj, Unije, Susak, and Ilovik. The largest cemetery is Saint Martin's in Mali Lošinj.
The cemeteries still in active use have new burials continually added and therefore inscriptions are often replaced. Where previous tombstone marker text is available it has been recorded. At times surnames within a grave plot replaced older surnames that were previously employed.
